National Smooth Dancers California State Convention is held every year over Labor Day Weekend where ballroom dancers enjoy a variety of dance events and dance parties throughout the weekend.

National Smooth Dancers is dedicated to supporting social Ballroom Dancing in Los Angeles and throughout California, the USA and the world. They are a non-profit volunteer organization founded in Los Angeles, California in 1937 for the purpose of creating greater interest in ballroom dancing. They often hold monthly ballroom dancing events in Los Angeles and typically include a dance lessons with the price of admission.

National Smooth Dancers defines Smooth Dancing as ballroom dancing such as Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep, the Viennese Waltz, Rhumba, Cha-cha, Samba, Swing and Mambo, played both in American and International Ballroom dance tempos.
